Well, here’s a little about me.
I’m a former Microsoft Consultant. I worked in the MSN & Windows Technical departments providing support to end users and training internal Microsoft staff. I've been in IT for over 20 years now, I have various certifications from MCSE, MCT, MCDST and more.
I have since left Microsoft Corporation and now work as a Forensic IT Consultant and Web / Graphic Designer. One by day, the other by night, (Or whenever I’m needed). I have been into computers since I got the first ever electronic game that you plugged into your TV called Pong. Not much later I was bought the Sinclair ZX81 1k Home Personal Computer. It was a powerful bit of kit (not). I had a little tape deck and a printer, that looked like a till roll. After that I had a Commodore 64. This was the best thing ever. I had great times with the C64 and have fond memories of playing the games and programming the thing. Mostly though, you typed in hundreds of lines of code, I typed Run and hit enter, only to be greeted with:
I now spent another 3 days looking for what id done wrong. It was usually a . instead of a , grrr.
With the Commodore, I had my first taste of the Internet. I had an Acoustic Coupler Modulator/Demodulator (Modem to you). This connected me to BBS sites (Bulletin Board Service) like Prestel and Micronet. These were interactive pages, not much different than the early Teletext pages like Ceefax and Oracle.
Anyway, after all this I got a PC in the early 90’s with Windows for DOS on it, some call it Windows for Workgroups. Then came Windows 3.x then Windows 95, you know the rest.
Anyway, by this time I was having my name laughed at because of a cool TV Show called Knight Rider. 20+ years later and Its still happening, each person that remembers Knight Rider think that they are the first person to say ‘hey where’s KITT?’ or ‘Not out crime fighting?’ or doing KITT’s scanner noise whoosh whoosh.
Anyway, now I’m all grown up and work for myself. I write as much as I can, listen to just about every piece of music I can. I’m a huge Movie fan and love Scary Movies and geeky Sci-Fi .
I try to get out as much as I can, which really isn’t a lot. So, that’s me in a nutshell.
Feel free to message me, add me to Skype or contact me anyway you can. I’m always looking to make new friends. Thanks for reading.
Mike
P.S. For those of you who would like to relive (or try) the Commodore 64, you can download an Emulator Here & and some Commodore Games Here.
